Welcome to the Great Lakes Chapter!
Karen Fournier, Great Lakes Chapter President
Established in 1983, the Great Lakes chapter is comprised of over 2,000 members in the following states and provinces: Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Wisconsin, northeastern South Dakota, eastern North Dakota, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec.
What can you expect at a Great Lakes Chapter annual conference? Paper presentations, lecture-recitals, CMS composers' concerts, student papers and compositions, a keynote speaker, the annual business meeting, and extensive opportunities to network with like-minded colleagues. We encourage your attendance at the Chapter Conference. Held at an institution within the chapter's geographical area, it offers a professional conference experience that is easily reached and affordable.
Calls for Participation are issued in the fall of each year. Please consider submitting a proposal. All topics related to college music teaching are encouraged. As the time for the conference approaches each year, we will notify you about all conference details. You need not be presenting at the conference to attend.
Opportunities to serve at the chapter level aboundserving as an officer, a committee member, a representative of a particular population (students, retired members), a newsletter editor, or in any other capacity that might interest you. If you are interested in becoming more active in the Great Lakes Chapter, please contact me.
I look forward to hearing from you regarding any Great Lakes Chapter concerns.
