Welcome to Burlington!

University of VermontThe Music Department of the University of Vermont is honored to host the 31st Northeast Regional Conference of The College Music Society! The University of Vermont combines faculty-student relationships most commonly found in a small liberal arts college with the resources of a major research institution. UVM is home to 10,000 and is located in Burlington, Vermont, on the shores of beautiful Lake Champlain and between the Adirondack and the Green Mountain ranges. The Music Department, located within the College of Arts and Sciences, is the home to 70+ music majors, 125+ music minors, and scores of non major who play in ensembles, take lessons, use the state of the art Music Technology Lab, or take Music History or Theory classes. Our faculty pass on the training they learned at leading universities and conservatories such as the University of Colorado, Cornell, Eastman, Harvard, Manhattan School of Music, Michigan, Oberlin, Wisconsin, and Yale. We look forward to meeting you for what should be an exciting conference!

Sincerely,

D. Thomas Toner, Associate Professor and Chair
