Dear Sy Brandon: Glad to be here. Nicole, what are looking to accomplish with the software? I ask because I teach composition -arranging, etc. but also music tech. and keep up as much as possible, though gear is always changing.
Hi everyone, I am a composer who has retired from university teaching and I am very interested in community engagement, especially in getting people excited about the music of living composers. I have done a lot of residencies with schools and organizations where they rehearse and perform my music and I do presentations on listening and interpretation. Looking forward to this group.
any thoughts on the best composition computer software for personal/teaching college uses? I teach an intro to composing class every other year and am looking for some opinions.

Danielle Aldach I have used both Finale and Sibelius for almost ten years and I have found that most students find Finale easier to teach with. It is also the most accessible. However, Sibelius notation software is used by large publishing companies for its professional look and capabilities.149 days ago
