A Message from Cynthia Crump Taggart (Michigan State University), Chair, 2013 Nominations Committee

On behalf of The College Music Society Nominations Committee, I invite you to help identify members who will provide national leadership in the coming years. Service at the national level offers Society members the unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the work, vitality, and vision of both CMS and the music profession. In a time of profound change in academe, holding an office gives one the chance to influence the questions we ask and the work we do in higher education.

We solicit your suggestions for five offices: President-Elect, Vice-President, Board Member for Ethnomusicology, Board Member for Music Theory, and Board Member for Musicology. The Nominations Committee will present a slate of nominees to the Board of Directors during its meeting in February of 2013. To assist you in identifying outstanding candidates, please read about the make-up of the Board.

The nominations process is critical to the future of CMS. We need leaders who have been active in CMS and represent a broad spectrum of experiences, abilities, and passions in regard to music in higher education.

Please help us by completing the form below to forward your recommendations. We welcome all nominations, including self-nominations, anytime before the deadline of December 1.
