The mission of the Committee on Academic Careers is to provide information and resources concerning music careers within traditional academic fields.

About Academic Careers

The Academic Careers Committee considers topics that impact students preparing for positions in higher education, academic job seekers, faculty of all ranks (including adjunct, non-tenure track, tenure-track, and senior faculty members), professional staff, retirees, and those striving to provide effective mentoring in academia. This broad concept of the population we wish to serve is highly influential on the committee’s activities. Furthermore, our ambition is to provide year-round career resources for CMS members, including various online tools and a continued conference presence.
