Welcome to The College Music Society’s Mid-Atlantic Chapter. Established in 1970, the Mid-Atlantic Chapter is the oldest in the Society. Over 850 members are included in the chapter, whose boundaries encompass the District of Columbia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Our annual Regional Conference takes place in the spring and features a diverse range of presentations and performances by scholars, researchers, and performers from throughout the United States. The conference also includes a keynote address, business meeting, and luncheon. We strongly encourage student proposals and are proud to offer the Ruskin Cooper Award for Outstanding Student Paper. The conference is a great place to make new friends and share ideas. All members of the chapter are encouraged to attend whether or not they submit a proposal.
