Welcome to the Rocky Mountain Chapter

Welcome to the Rocky Mountain Chapter of CMS! Established in 1986, we are geographically the largest CMS chapter, with membership ranging throughout Colorado, eastern Idaho, eastern Montana, New Mexico, Wyoming, western North Dakota, northwestern South Dakota, Utah, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.

Our annual conferences attract a variety of scholars from all over the continent, with paper presentations, lecture-recitals, concerts of works by CMS composers and performers, common-topic roundtable, and other offerings, as well as a keynote speaker at our annual business-meeting luncheon. Often held in Denver or along the Front Range, our conferences are generally easily reached and affordable. We plan our conference schedules to allow for plenty of time for networking and connecting with colleagues from all over the region and beyond. Complete conference details, including the calls for proposals, are posted as soon as they are available. We’d love to have you join us!

We invite Rocky Mountain Chapter members, including graduate students, to take advantage of the opportunities to get involved in the chapter, whether by serving as area representative, board officer, committee member, or in any other capacity that might be of interest.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions, suggestions, or concerns.

President, CMS Rocky Mountain Chapter
