Korean Art Song Competition for Young Singers

2026 Korean Art Song Competition for Young Singers celebrates Korean gagok and provides emerging American vocalists with an opportunity to explore its rich musical and cultural heritage. Finalists selected through video submission will travel to Boston for a day of rehearsals and a final competition before a jury and live audience.

Application Deadline: June 1, 2026
Finalists to be Announced: Mid-June, 2026

Final Round: August 15, 2026 | 3:00 PM
Venue: Seully Hall, Boston Conservatory at Berklee
8 Fenway, Boston, MA

Prizes

First Place: USD $2,000
Second Place: USD $1,500
Third Place: USD $1,000
Honorable Mention: USD $500
A travel honorarium will be provided to finalists traveling to Boston.

Eligibility

Applicants must:
Be between the ages of 18 and 29 as of June 1, 2026
Currently reside in the United States
Be singers whose native language is not Korean
First prize winner from the previous year is not eligible to compete.

Repertoire Requirements

Each applicant must submit recordings of two Korean art songs:
One selection composed prior to 2000
One selection composed after 2000
