Announces Deadline 3 of YEAR 4 of the Emerging Composer Completion Grants
ARTZenter Institute is pleased to announce the Emerging Composer Completion Grants. These grants are designed to nurture the creation of new works for chamber orchestra and will be awarded for works-in-progress.
ARTZenter Institute is a composer鈥檚 grant program offering Emerging Composer Completion Grants to young composers across the United States. Composers currently enrolled in a degree-granting program are invited to apply.
ARTZenter offers 24 Emerging Composer Completion Grants in three annual cycles, with each cycle consisting of two distinct phases.
Changes to the Emerging Composer Completion Grants
- ARTZenter offers Emerging Composer Completion Grants three times annually.
- For each cycle, up to 8 finalist composers will receive $3,000 completion grants and be asked to submit a completed composition by a specified date.
- Composers are invited to submit 50-75 measures for sinfonietta: 1 1 1 1 - 1 1 1 0 - 2 perc - harp - strings (1 1 1 1 1 ) for review by the adjudication committee.
- From this group finalists, 4 winning composers will be invited to participate in a 2day rehearsal session at the historic Brava Theater Center in San Francisco鈥檚 Mission District. The 4 winning composers will receive a $600 airfare/travel stipend and hotel accommodations in San Francisco.
- The session will culminate in a world premiere performance of the 4 winning works at the Brava Theater Center.

The ARTZenter Institute is a newly established Composer鈥檚 Grant Program established to encourage the creation of new music by emerging composers for the traditional orchestral ensemble. The fund was created by Tony Magee, founder of The Lagunitas Brewing Company, and a life-long musician.
