Welcome to the Northwest Chapter of the College Music Society! I’m very excited to be leading this regional chapter which house Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Alaska, British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon, and Northwest Territories. This vast geographic region is home to many colleges and universities and around 300 members, each with something amazing to contribute to the world of music education!
Our chapter hosts a yearly regional conference that rotates throughout our region. We are proud of the student involvement at those regional conferences and offer awards for best paper and performance to our student participants. Additionally, we offer an award to an adjunct instructor to help with travel expenses. We find that adjunct instructors often lack
institutional support for professional development. The northwest regional chapter believes accessibility to our conferences is important and these awards are the first step.
