It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the homepage for the Rocky Mountain Chapter of The College Music Society. Established in 1986, our chapter has several hundred members and encompasses the largest geographic region to include Colorado, eastern Idaho, eastern Montana, New Mexico, Wyoming, western North Dakota, northwestern South Dakota, Utah, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. I encourage and support all of you in sharing our mission with new colleagues, fellow scholars, and students. Our chapter includes professional performing musicians, independent scholars, musicologists, music theorists, composers, music technologists, administrators, students, and more.
Our chapter hosts an annual regional conference featuring performances, paper presentations, lecture-recitals, common-topic round table discussion, business meeting, poster session, and keynote speaker luncheon. Student attendance and participation are also highly encouraged as the Chapter awards top student presentations and compositions. This two-day event is held each spring at various host colleges and universities within the region and is a wonderful opportunity for the sharing and dissemination of knowledge, research, career development, mentorship, artistry, and support. Your attendance is welcomed as a presenter, performer, or attendee. In my years as a member of CMS, I have met colleagues from all disciplines and had the opportunity to share musical ideas from a wealth of perspectives. I invite all of you to continue your interest and involvement in our Chapter as area representative, board member, committee member, or in any capacity that may be of interest to you.
Please feel free to contact me at any time to learn more about our chapter. All questions, comments, and suggestions welcome.
