Eight of the nine chapters held Regional Conferences in spring 2013. Everyone who attended these events enjoyed themselves immensely and learned a great deal from each other.
The one chapter that did not meet in the spring, Pacific Southwest, remains in hiatus. A ballot for new chapter leadership was a project that was started in September 2013, and is hopefully nearing completion. Once new officers are in place, it is hoped that this chapter will resume a vital existence.
Another chapter experienced a crisis in chapter leadership that required intervention from the Vice President and the Executive Office. The issue was resolved in a fashion that, though difficult, turned out best for everyone involved.
Several chapters have exciting plans for the coming years. Among these is the joint conference of the Mid-Atlantic and Southern Chapters that will take place in 2014.
It is difficult to believe that my three-year term as CMS’s Vice President has come to an end. I have learned a great deal, and it has been my distinct honor to serve CMS. Thank you for the opportunity.
