Engagement and Outreach for Members

All CMS members enjoy access to the following engagement and outreach resources:

engagementENGAGEMENT WITH COMMUNITIES

Community engagement invests in and involves our local neighborhoods in transformative musical endeavors. As musicians, we are the producers and bearers of musical culture. Moreover, we are models for the creation and implementation of community engagement and outreach activities. How we express this responsibility in the places where we live and work can occur in myriad and creative ways. By working together we can make a lasting impact on our local communities through musical interaction.

Bringing the concerns of music faculty into the national conversation of higher education has never been easy and, in these times of economic uncertainty, it is more difficult than ever.  However, it has never been more necessary nor more potentially rewarding. CMS  examines current directions and possibilities, and develops plans that contribute to conversations with the higher education community.
