Opportunities for Students to be Music Advocates in our Communities: Ideas That Work

Presenters: Dr. Jeffrey Stannard (Lawrence University) & Dr. Pamela Pike (Louisiana State University)

Music has the power to transform lives. In our complex world, we need musician leaders who will advocate for music and for its inherent value. As a result, faculty and students must move beyond the walls of the academy and bring music to various audiences and organizations within our communities. We can train the next generation of musicians to become effective leaders in our profession and address the issue of cultivating the value of music within our broader society. This webinar highlights programs that have empowered students of one music conservatory that is part of a small, residential liberal arts college to think well and interact with others in the world through music.
