Brass Band Music in the South Central Andes and Beyond
Brass bands are an important part of the soundscape in many cities and towns in the South Central Andes. In this webinar, I will address the multiple social contexts in which these bands appear as well as how these contexts impact their music making practice. I also consider how such practices might serve as a resource for collegiate music education in light of the CMS's recent task force on the undergraduate music major.
