Introducing Music of the Hispanic Caribbean
This presentation considers central themes that can be used to frame discussions of music and cultural history in the Hispanic Caribbean and throughout the region. Such themes include notions of race, hybridity, and diaspora, with special concern for the ideological legacies of colonization and of the Atlantic slave trade.
