4:45–9:30 p.m.

Churchill DownsShare an enjoyable autumn evening with colleagues on the grounds of Churchill Downs – Louisville’s home to “Greatest Two Minutes in Sports™,” the Kentucky Derby. Following Thursday afternoon’s conference sessions, you’ll be transported by bus to the Kentucky Derby Museum, where you will be greeted by guides who will introduce you to the world’s most legendary thoroughbred racing venue. An informative walking tour will showcase the property, highlight past Derby winners, and provide insight into the rich history of the location. At the conclusion of the tour, you will enter the Museum to explore the exhibits on your own and view a unique 360° media presentation on a state-of-the-art screen that will put you in the middle of the action surrounding the first Saturday in May. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served in the Great Hall during the ensuing social hour, providing an excellent opportunity for you to network with fellow conference attendees. To further enhance your Kentucky experience, you can also participate in a tasting of the iconic spirit for which the Commonwealth is known, led by a certified bourbon authority.

But wait — there is more! As a finale, we will transfer from the Kentucky Derby Museum to Margaret Comstock Concert Hall on the campus of the University of Louisville to enjoy a special concert featuring works by CMS composers, performed by the University of Louisville Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Collegiate Chorale, and Cardinal Singers.
