Miami International Airport (MIA) is the main airport serving the Miami area, with over 1,000 daily flights to 167 domestic and international destinations. This airport is conveniently located just 12 miles from the Hilton Miami Downtown. Click here for a list of airlines that offer nonstop flights to MIA.
Alternatively, attendees may consider arriving to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), 23 miles from the Hilton Miami Downtown. Further afield is Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), located 69 miles from the Hilton.
Airport to Hotel
The hotel does not provide shuttle service. Rideshare services, including Uber and Lyft are available at both MIA and FLL for drop-offs and pickups. Taxi fares from MIA to the conference hotel should cost between $25–$30, and fares from FLL to the Hilton are between $65–$85.
While not the fastest means of travel, it is also possible to reach the conference hotel from MIA via the city rail system. Moving by rail is an economical option, at just $2.25 one way. Here are travel directions to the hotel by rail:
- Take the complimentary MIA Mover from the 3rd level of the airport (between the Dolphin and Flamingo Garages) to the Miami Intermodal Center (the airport’s transportation hub);
- Travel on the Metrorail Orange Line to the Government Center station ($2.25); then
- Transfer from there to the free Metromover (Omni Loop / Blue Line) and disembark at the Adrienne Arsht Center Station. The hotel is a one-block walk from the Arsht Center Station.
If you will be driving, visit the hotel’s website for turn-by-turn driving directions from the 3 major airports listed above.
Getting Around Miami
The Metromover (elevated rail system) is a free and easy way to transfer between the conference hotel and the downtown and Brickell neighborhoods. Unfortunately, Metromover does not go to South Beach / Miami Beach; however, the public bus system does serve this area, and buses (routes 113, 119, and 120) regularly depart from the Omni Terminal, located just one block from the Hilton. Detailed information regarding each route may be found here.
Both valet and self-parking options are available at the Hilton Miami Downtown. CMS has negotiated a discounted rate of $20/vehicle per night (down from $28) for valet service, which includes in-and-out privileges.
Please note: Self-parking does not include in-and-out privileges, as the garage is not owned or operated by the hotel. Guests must pay an hourly rate each time they exit the facility. At the time of this posting, the current rate for self-parking is $10/hour per vehicle or $25/vehicle per night (assuming the car remains in the garage and is removed by 12 noon). The height restriction for self-parked vehicles is 6' 7".
From local establishments featuring farm-to-table cuisine to food trucks with Latin and Caribbean offerings to fine dining restaurants run by celebrity chefs, Miami is foodie’s paradise.
