Community Engagement Seed Grants

Community Engagement Seed Grants provide Support for music projects that bring together musicians in higher education and members of the local community. Seed Grants provide support for community engagement projects that have potential for sustainability over time.


CMS Instructional Technology Initiative Award

The CMS Instructional Technology Initiative Award recognizes exceptional projects that demonstrate the effective use of technology to improve college music instruction. The Award recognizes an active CMS or ATMI member who has demonstrated exceptional initiative in integrating technology with college music instruction.


Education in Music Award

Education in Music Award recognizes established and on-going, imaginative and effective programs of engagement by higher education music faculty that further education in music with local or area organizations.


Historically Underrepresented Populations

The CMS Fund provides grants for travel to the CMS National Conference for those from populations that have historically experienced discrimination (i.e., African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans).


Students Travel Support

The CMS Fund provides grants for students for travel to the CMS National Conference.


The Robert M. Trotter Lecture

The Robert M. Trotter Lecture brings an outstanding music professional to each National Conference of The College Music Society.
