About CMS-NAMM GenNext

GenNext is a collaboration between The College Music Society and NAMM (the National Association of Music Merchants) that provides opportunities for college, conservatory, and university music faculty and students to  learn about the nearly $100 billion music industry and to network with industry leaders. GenNext activities include:

  • Conference presentations at the annual NAMM Show in Anaheim, California during late January.
  • The GenNext Faculty Forum at the annual Summer NAMM Show in Nashville during July.
  • The CMS-NAMM Fellows Program, part of the summer Faculty Forum in Nashville

The NAMM Foundation sponsored nine (9) Fellows, representing CMS Regional Chapters. Fellows received a grant of $1,000 to defray transportation, hotel, registration, and meal costs incurred in attending the CMS-NAMM Summer Fellows Program for Music Faculty and Summer NAMM. The CMS-NAMM Summer Fellows Program for Music Faculty took place Thursday, July 13, 2017, one day prior to the CMS-NAMM GenNext Faculty Forum.
