INSTRUCTIONS
- Typing a query in the filter will search in *all* of the following fields for matches:
- Institution
- Last Name
- First Name
- Title
- Rank (Prof, Asst Prof, Assoc Prof, Inst, Lect, Art-in-Res, Adj, PT, FT)
- Music Specializations (search any term from this list. Please pay attention to upper- and lowercase!)
- Administrative Specializations (search any term from this list. Please pay attention to upper- and lowercase!)
- City
- Zip
- Country
- Choosing a specific state from the drop-down list will narrow your results by state.
- Query string entered will be searched with wildcards on either side. Therefore, enter an exact example of what you're searching for. (e.g., Searching for faculty at 'University Montana' will NOT find faculty at the University of Montana. 'Montana' will find faculty at any institution with Montana in the title.)
- Query is case sensitive! Searching for 'smith' will return Goldsmith but not Smith. Searching for 'Smith' will return Smith but not Goldsmith.
- Clicking on the institution name will display a detailed listing of the entire institution.
- Clicking on the column header will sort in ascending order by that column.
- Clicking on the column header twice will sort in descending order by that column.
ADVICE
- Choose the most specific query term possible. Search query ‘Peter’ will return results for Peter Smith, Joe Peterson, and John Doe who teaches in St. Peter, Minnesota.
- Use the filter in combination with the column sort. For example, search for 'cello' to retrieve a listing for cellists. Sort by the state column to locate cellists in Idaho.
- Always remember to click the institution name to find complete contact information.
