The International Program Committee is excited to announce calls for participation for our 2025 International Conference in Bogotá and Medellín, Colombia, June 15–23, 2025, in conjunction with the International Alliance for Women in Music (IAWM). On behalf of the 2025 CMS International Conference Program Committee, I invite you to submit a proposal for participation. All proposals are due no later than 12 noon Mountain Time on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. 

We have a great conference planned for you where you will be able to experience one of the most beautiful countries in South America. Our stay will begin in Bogotá, a bustling metropolis of over 7 million people, with cultural and gastronomic offerings that are the envy of any major city. Next, we will visit Medellín, also known as the City of Eternal Spring, where we will witness how positive leadership and tremendous vision have transformed a city once plagued by notorious activity into a safe and modern place to visit. We will taste the coffee of local farmers and visit a wide range of cultural locations where we will see how art has contributed to social change.

2025 CMS International Conference

 

CMS is excited to announce that we will be collaborating with the International Alliance for Women in Music (IAWM) for this conference. The IAWM call is open to any topic but particularly encourages proposals that center the theme:"Women of the World: uncovering unheard voices; raising the visibility of underrepresented women globally; those women who are reimagining equity and inclusion in the world of music making; those challenging the “canon”; those whose history has been ignored, and we particularly want to celebrate the wealth of music creation and performance by and about women in Latin America.

CMS and IAWM members alike are welcome to submit proposals in response to this call. You may submit your proposal to present on behalf of IAWM by navigating to this link. All proposals must be submitted by May 15.
