Effective Asynchronous Teaching for MGS Courses
Tuesday, December 9, 2025
Online asynchronous courses can expand accessibility and open doors for students who thrive at their own pace or who balance internships, work, or childcare. At the same time, the format can be isolating, and students may fall behind without additional support. This webinar will explore both the opportunities and challenges of asynchronous learning, with attention to equity and anti-racist course design. We’ll share strategies drawn from years of research and practice while creating space for everyone to contribute to the conversation.
Led by Jane Palmquist (Brooklyn College-City University of New York), Council Chair, and Alisha Nypaver (Temple University), on behalf of the CMS Council on Music in General Studies
