Explaining how copyright law and related music industry revenue works to college students can be challenging. These are complicated topics, and it can be difficult to know how much information to provide and how to structure it so that it can be understood by this age group. Giving students foundational knowledge on these topics can help them navigate the complexities of the music industry and protect their musical creations. Educators may feel hesitant to discuss these topics because they have not developed a clear understanding themselves and find the subject intimidating. This session will explore resources that are available to help educators gain a clear understanding of the topics and some ways they can approach teaching it to their students.
