Why Stay at the Conference Hotel?
Both Bogotá and Medellín are vibrant cities with plenty to offer, but they are also known for their bustling traffic and busy streets. Securing reliable transportation during peak times can be challenging.**
Conference presentations and performances will take place at Javeriana University in Bogotá and EAFIT University in Medellín. To make your experience seamless, the official conference hotels will serve as convenient departure points for transportation to and from these universities. Staying at the official hotels ensures that you can easily access the provided transit and avoid the complexities of navigating these dynamic cities on your own.
Additionally, all group meals, sightseeing excursions, and tours will depart directly from the official hotels. Staying at these locations ensures you’re perfectly positioned to participate in every activity with ease. It’s the best way to keep your schedule stress-free and make the most of your time in Colombia.
** Ciclovía (in Bogotá) is a weekly event where over 120 kilometers of city streets are closed to motor vehicles, turning them into safe spaces for cyclists, runners, skaters, and pedestrians. Originating in 1974, it promotes exercise, sustainable mobility, and community interaction. The event typically runs from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM every Sunday and public holidays, and it is complemented by "Recreovía," which offers free fitness classes like aerobics, yoga, and dance at various points along the route.
Ciclovía is celebrated as a model for urban health and sustainability, inspiring similar programs in cities worldwide. It showcases Bogotá's commitment to fostering an active, inclusive, and environmentally friendly urban culture.
