Suzanne Hall is Associate Professor of Music Education at Temple University where she teaches courses in general music education. Her primary research interests focus on music and English/Language Arts (ELA) connections and cultivating inclusive spaces. She is a frequent presenter at state and national conferences and conducts professional development workshops on music and ELA integration strategies for school districts across the country. Her books include The Musical Bookshelf: Connecting Diverse Children's Literature with Music, Teaching Elementary Music: Integrative Strategies between Music and Other Subjects, and General Music: A K12 Experience. Her articles can be found in various journals, including Journal of General Music Education, Philosophy of Music Education Review, Music Educators Journal, and the Journal for Music Teacher Education. Dr. Hall is a member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and the College Music Society (CMS), where she has served as chair of the CMS Council on Music Education since 2022. Dr. Hall currently serves on the advisory board for the International Journal of Education and the Arts (IJEA) and on the Board of Directors for Save the Music Foundation.
Her previous teaching experiences include elementary general music (K-5) in Oviedo (Florida) and Memphis (Tennessee). At Memphis, she was commissioned by Promise Academy Charter School to author and teach a music curriculum designed to integrate language arts within the music curriculum. Before arriving at Temple University, she served as the music education program coordinator at Augusta University.
